Not Sure You Have Mice in Your House? Signs to Know for Sure

Having mice invade your NJ home means that you and your family are at risk of getting sick and having your food contaminated or ruined. Mice can also cause property damage by chewing on wires or chewing through wood. You’ll need local rodent control if you have any of the following signs of mice in your home.

Gnaw Marks

Mice are able to gnaw or chew on different kinds of surfaces in homes thanks to their long front teeth. You might find gnaw marks on food packaging in your home or on other items. Keep in mind that mice can also chew on walls and baseboards. Look for these tiny marks throughout your home to see if you might have mice.

Mouse Droppings

Mice leave small pellets that are sometimes dark and moist around homes when they first invade. After awhile, these pellets look grayish and become dry. Since mouse droppings can have pathogens, you should avoid touching them. Clean them up carefully without any direct physical contact on your skin.

Mice Nests

You might not actually see a mouse nest in your home, since they tend to build them in walls and other hidden areas. You should look for nesting materials they use, such as bits of torn fabric or shredded paper. You might see these close to walls in your home.
