Summer is the Time for Relaxation, Not Getting Bitten by Pesky Mosquitoes!

You should be able to relax outside during summer, but mosquitoes can make that hard to do. Mosquitoes can leave you covered in itchy bites and also put you at risk of getting sick from West Nile virus or some other mosquito-borne illness. Find out what you can do to protect yourself from mosquitoes this summer, including having a Spring Lake NJ exterminator treat your yard.

Wear Mosquito Repellent

Applying mosquito repellent before heading outdoors, especially in the evening, is a good way to keep mosquitoes away from your body. Keep in mind that you might need to reapply it if you’re going to be outside for a long time.

Cover Your Arms and Legs

Even though it’s hot, you should still consider covering your arms and legs when you’ll be outside in the evening. Covering exposed skin helps protect you from being bitten by mosquitoes.

Get Rid of Standing Water

Your yard could be harboring mosquito eggs and larvae. Since they’re found in standing water, eliminate these from your yard. Empty bird baths, pet dishes, watering cans, and other sources of standing water in your yard.

Close Up Gaps

Sealing up cracks around doors and windows and repairing holes in screens helps keep mosquitoes out of your house. Otherwise, they can find their way inside your home.

If you want to make sure mosquitoes don’t invade your yard this summer, please contact Allison Pest Control. We’ll send a professional Spring Lake NJ exterminator to your home to eliminate mosquitoes.
