Poisonous Spiders Found in New Jersey

Although there are dozens of spider species found in NJ, most of them aren’t a threat to humans. However, there are a few spider species that can deliver a painful and dangerous bite. You’ll need help from professional pest control in Monmouth County if you have any of the following spiders in your home.

Brown Recluse Spider

Brown recluse spiders have a bite that can cause serious and even potentially life-threatening health issues. These spiders only grow to be up to 3/4 of an inch long and have a violin shape on their body. These spiders aren’t common in NJ, but it’s important for homeowners to still be on the lookout for them in their home.

Black Widow Spider

Black widow spiders have bites that are highly painful and can cause severe reactions in some people. These spiders have a black body with a reddish hourglass shape on it, and adults grow to be roughly half an inch long.

Wolf Spider

Wolf spiders have a venomous bite, but they’re generally not aggressive unless they feel threatened. These grayish or brown spiders can measure up to an inch or more long when they are adults, making them easy to spot.
