When Does Mosquito Season End in New Jersey?

Dealing with mosquitoes is one of the drawbacks of warmer weather. If you’re tired of swatting these bugs away, when can you expect them to disappear in NJ? Learn more about when mosquito season ends, but keep in mind that you still might need pest control in Monmouth County for these pests when it’s cooler.

Mosquito Season in NJ

Mosquito season in NJ typically starts around May as temperatures start to rise. Mosquitoes come out of hibernation or hatch from eggs during spring and summer, especially when rainfall amounts are higher. By the end of summer, you can still find them around, although their populations are lower at this point. Mosquitoes won’t go away for the season until temperatures begin staying at or below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This could be later in the year depending on whether or not NJ has a warmer fall and winter.

Handling Mosquito Problems

While mosquitoes are still around, they can spread West Nile virus and other diseases through their bites. It’s important to have these pests dealt with at any time during mosquito season before they have a chance to put your health at risk.
