Stink bugs are around for several months, but you might notice them more in fall. While the shield-shaped brown marmorated stink bug is the one most people see, NJ is home to 10 other types of stink bugs. Learn more about these bugs and how NJ pest control can help.
Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs
These invasive stink bugs can infest homes and buildings in large numbers, which makes them hard to eliminate. They tend to gather in groups on exterior surfaces that are sunny during fall. They sometimes invade homes in order to shelter inside walls or other places until spring.
Other Stink Bugs
You might not see other stink bugs as much as the brown marmorated stink bug, but they’re still around. Some of these other stink bugs include green, burgundy stink bugs, rough stink bugs, black and red stink bugs, two-spotted stink bugs, black stink bugs, and anchor stink bugs.
Stink Bug Problems
The main issue with stink bugs is the odor they emit if you crush them. When you have a large infestation, these odors can be strong and unpleasant. Otherwise, stink bugs don’t sting, bite, spread diseases, or damage property.
