House Flies Love Dining on Filth and Garbage – Make Them Find Dinner Somewhere Else!

Houseflies can get into your home and quickly become a nuisance. Since these pests can spread germs on food and surfaces in your home, it’s important for you to take steps to keep them away. In addition to getting professional pest control in Monmouth County, you should also do the following to stop flies from getting into your home.

Keep Your Home Clean

Having a clean home reduces the risk of ending up with a fly problem. Empty trash cans inside your home regularly, and keep them closed throughout the day. Don’t leave food or crumbs out on counters or tables, and clean spills right away. Make sure that pet feeding areas and litter box areas are kept as clean as possible. Fixing leaks in your home also removes water sources that attract flies.

Check for Entry Points

Look around doors, windows and your home exterior for gaps or openings that let flies in. Keep in mind that you might have these openings around vents or in your foundation. Flies can get through even tiny cracks, so look closely for these entry points. Seal cracks and gaps with caulk or weatherstripping to prevent flies from being able to get in. Repair or replace screens with holes in them as often as needed.
